North Downs Hospital is one of Surrey's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. Located within the M25, close to the centre of Caterham, the hospital opened in 1974 and currently has 15 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and a daycase suite. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements. The day unit is suitable for minor operations and endoscopy. Treatments at the hospital also include cataract removal, ENT procedures, hernia repair, varicose vein surgery, hysterectomy, prostate surgery and urological procedures.

Part-time contract 15 hours a week, permanent

Salary from £20,444 pro rata (£8177)

**The role**

In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality food for our patients and staff. The role consists of working in our well-equipped kitchen and staff restaurant. The successful applicant will work closely with the catering team to provide a premium level of service to our patients, staff and visitors and will be involved in all aspects of service delivery including food preparation, first class presentation, restaurant service and general cooking.

**What you will bring**:

- Experience in a catering environment (ideally at the Chef's level)
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
- Desirable (this training can be provided)
- Experience within a healthcare environment - Desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- An ability to work independently and to manage own priorities and strict deadlines
- Flexibility, adaptability & initiative
- Smart appearance
