**Job details**:

- The School is looking to appoint a Lecturer to provide teaching and associated duties in Textile Design. Duties will include making a contribution to achieving the academic objectives of the School through teaching, acting as module leader for a number of identified modules, undertaking administrative duties relevant to module leadership (administer course registers, assessment records, learning programmes and other records and to engage with the recruitment of students onto courses and to provide appropriate advice on progression and career opportunities).

Essential skills are to include:

- Teaching experience in a higher education environment
- A good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant area.
- A relevant Masters qualification and PhD in a relevant area
- Ability to teach and supervise dissertations or projects up to Masters level.
- Teaching, learning and assessment skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Ability to undertake research/ knowledge transfer
- Excellent presentation and communication/interpersonal skills

In addition, you should be able to record student attendance, upload the necessary coursework on the university network and contact students through digital channels. You should also have relevant Industry practice experience. The role requires the flexibility to provide teaching and support when necessary (during occasional periods of sickness cover and during delivery of collaborative projects) across Design. Finally, you would be expected to be involved in the recruitment of new students at outreach events.
