**The Role**

Are you an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking for a new role?

At OUH we are now seeking an experienced occupational therapist to join the team at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This role is based in the Heart Centre, which comprises a Cardiothoracic ward with mainly elective surgical patients and the Cardiology wardwhich has a largely complex medical caseload.

**The Trust/Ward/Department**

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training, and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

It provides a wide range of general and specialist services as well as playing a central role in the local community. Being based in the city of Oxford, the hospitalis easy to reach and has excellent access to London.

The Children’s Hospital is based on the John Radcliffe site and provides both DGH services as well as a Tertiary Centre role for specialist conditions including Orthopaedics, Neuromuscular, Cystic Fibrosis and Neonatal Critical Care. The Children’s Hospitalworks in partnership with Southampton for both cardiac and neurosurgical services.

**The Responsibilities**
- As such the suitable applicant would have experience in complex medicine, and ideally elective surgery as well.
- The applicant would be working alongside a team of Occupational and Physiotherapists delivering acute rehabilitation and ongoing care planning in this environment, which is challenging yet exciting due to its diverse nature.
- Ideally the applicant would have knowledge of the acute care pathways specific to the local and surrounding areas.

Degree level qualification in Occupational Therapy

To be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

NHS experience

Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
