**Job summary**:
The United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have an exciting opportunity for a **Publications Officer / Content Editor **to join the Immunisation and Countermeasures Division.

As the **Publications Officer / Content Editor** you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Immunisation Publications Manager and the team to develop and distribute public information relating to routine immunisation and Covid-19 vaccination.

**Job description**:
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

- To carry out editing on various public facing materials which form part of the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
- To liaise with scientist and medics to take on board their changes and ensure material is scientifically and factually accurate.
- To ensure materials are correctly and appropriately branded.
- To ensure all materials are written in house style and in plain English.
- To commission new or revised products from designers or printers
- Some event management and attendance to promote our immunisation publications at face to face conferences in England.
- Attending programme board meetings, taking actions and presenting publications and supporting the workstreams and our annual National Immunisation conference.
- Use CMS platforms to publish HTML content
- Printed stock management and ordering queries with client management

**Person specification**:
**Essential**
- Experience in editing content/editorial development projects
- Experience in developing plain English content that meets user needs
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Developing a sophisticated understanding of what users need from digital content, and developing content that meets those needs
- Good organisational and administrative skills

**Desirable**
- Specific knowledge and experience in immunisation, infectious disease or relevant health topic
- Experience and understanding of publications legal issues such as copyright and libel, protection and development of corporate brand identity
- Previous experience of uploading content to websites
- Experience of having worked with print and design agencies
