We are seeking two positive and expert Midwifery leaders with a passion for delivering outstanding midwifery care. We invite you to join our team in the dynamic role of Intrapartum Matron for our busy labour ward and Maternity Triage based at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in East Action, London.

You will be motivating and leading our fabulous staff to deliver high quality care to the women and birthing people on our wards. You will be assisting in delivering outstanding care to the women and birthing people who use our service.

You will be one of two Matrons for the Labour Ward and you will be working alongside some of the best specialists in the field, allowing you to expand and develop your skillset.

Your management responsibility will include staff management, sickness management, budget management - ensuring the day to day running of the ward is seamless.

- You will be the leader of this key area of our service with responsibility for providing 24 hour high quality centred care across the Labour Ward and Maternity Triage as directed by the Head of Midwifery (HOM). As the positive role model for the area your expert clinical advice and support will be of benefit to all staff.
- Strong clinical leadership is required in the management of this group of clients some with highly complex medical and social problems
- Some of your responsibilities includes: The ability to identify and facilitate strategies for the service improvement and potential development initiatives.
- To actively participate in the management of all maternity services such as participation in the manager on call rota, deputising for the HOM where required. You will monitor and manage resources within a defined budget and be responsible for people management including the completion of annual appraisals, sickness management and disciplinary matters.
- We pride ourselves in encouraging user participation and as such you will contribute to our Maternity Voice partnership meetings and respond to feedback from our women and birthing partners.
- As Intrapartum Matron you will be expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that robust systems are in place and that continuous quality improvement programmes are used to maintain the high standards of care expected at Imperial.
