We are seeking an adaptable and motivated person for the role of Education Welfare Officer to work alongside our pastoral team. The primary purpose of the role is to enable children to gain maximum benefit from educational opportunities by facilitating on the promotion of good attendance and punctuality and to support the families of children that attend our school. The EWO will also support families in a wide variety of other ways, including helping parents extend learning at home, involving parents in the life of the school and supporting families by working with different agencies. They will be required to monitor attendance statistics and implement appropriate strategies to improve attendance and engagement of individuals and key student cohorts. The post holder will be expected to achieve results through a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approach. The post holder will also be expected to engage in a significant amount of outreach work within the community, visiting families in their homes.
