Female Communication Support Worker

**About me**

I am a 22-year-old lady living in a village just off the A1. I have a basic level of BSL and understand speech. You will be supporting me when I attend activities and on outings, helping me to improve my communication skills and signing.

I like walking, going on outings, cycling, music, drawing, cooking, and baking. I love travelling in the car with music playing, especially Queen.

I have autism, even though I am very sociable and so I need someone with experience who knows when I need advice and help. I am a very kind and understanding person and I would like someone active who loves life like I do.

This role is to work proactively in supporting a young lady communicating using BSL/sign supported English, to access a range of activities in the home but mainly outside of the home. She has additional needs and will need some support with personal care. You will encourage and help her to increase and develop her signing knowledge and skills in BSL.

You will have support from an additional Carer/ PA when on outings

**About you**

You will need to have BSL Level 3, (preferably Level 4 or working at Level 4).

Some experience of working with people with additional needs. Experience in supporting young adults in their homes and in the community. Able to work on own initiative. Experience in providing customised, high quality and responsive care for people with learning disabilities.

A driving licence is essential, and a car is provided for work. (The location is easily accessible with a good road network and close to the A1.)

You must be able to keep up with an active young lady.

**Important information**

Holiday pay: 5.6 weeks pro rata
