OCU Hornbill (Part of the wider OCU Group) currently have an exciting opportunity for a Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Neath.

OCU Hornbill is an established Process Control, Instrumentation and Electrical services company, based in South Wales, with a wide and diverse client base throughout the UK and overseas. Typical markets are Oil, Gas, Chemicals, Metals and Utilities.

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will embark on a structured learning program designed to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a qualified electrician. Under the supervision of experienced electricians, you will gain practical experience and theoretical understanding in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Assist with Electrical Installations**: Work alongside qualified electricians to assist with the installation of electrical systems in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial premises.
- **Learn Wiring and Circuitry**: Gain hands-on experience in wiring and circuitry, including the installation of cables, conduits, switches, sockets, and lighting fixtures.
- **Troubleshooting and Repairs**: Learn to diagnose and rectify electrical faults and issues, under supervision, ensuring that systems are functioning safely and efficiently.
- **Follow Electrical Regulations**: Familiarise yourself with relevant electrical regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry guidelines.
- **Read Technical Drawings**: Develop the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to assist in installation and repair tasks.
- **Testing and Inspection**: Participate in testing and inspection procedures to verify the integrity and safety of electrical installations, equipment, and systems.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**: Always Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of work undertaken, including installation logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation. Report findings and progress to senior electricians as required.

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Motivated and keen to learn.
- Flexible and professional.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Can follow instructions and work under pressure.
- Have Electrical experience, currently training or have gained qualifications (Desirable).
