We are currently looking for a Director of Education and Academic Services to join our busy team on a 12 month FTC

The Director of Education and Academic Services (DEAS) is a key leadership role within ARU College and will assist the College Director/Principal to efficiently and effectively manage the development and delivery of its learning and teaching, quality assuranceand academic services provision. This incorporates responsibilities for leading and managing: academic services; academic quality assurance; student enhancement; learning and teaching and the development of key strategic and operational relationships withthe Partner University as appropriate for the position. Leading the academic provision of the College will require the DEAS to have knowledge and experience of: managing curriculum development; curriculum delivery; quality assurance; data analysis and presentationand people management.

The DEAS will lead and manage the Academic Teaching Staff and provide leadership and management of the College Academic Services team. The DEAS will assist the CDP in ensuring that that key performance indicators for the College are achieved which include:student retention, student achievement and student progression.

**Director of Education and Academic Services Duties**:

- Lead the development and design of new programmes from the planning stage through to delivery, monitoring closely the progress throughout the process
- Ensure the validation of high-quality new programmes, in order to facilitate an excellent student experience
- Be accountable for strengthening the academic integrity across the College in all disciplines and levels
- Develop and maintain academic relationships with the Partner University through Partnership Leadsand other Academic University leads as appropriate
- Chair Academic Panels and Boards, Academic Teaching Staff meetings, Annual Monitoring and Review, Learning and Teaching Committees as appropriate
- Lead the development of Academic Services operational relationships with the Partner University as appropriate for the management of examinations, timetabling and programme development
- Lead the Annual Monitoring Review process for the College
- Lead the academic quality assurance processes for the College: OfS, and CLA audits
- Lead the collection, analysis and presentation of data for College Academic Boards and Panels, governance reports, Navitas UK and NVT Global Monthly and Annual Reports
- Provide oversight timetabling processes for the College
- Provide oversight of the management of examinations processes for the College
- Provide oversight of the Peer Review and Management Observation process for the College
- Provide oversight of the administration processes for leave of absence, extenuating circumstances, withdrawal and termination of students
- Provide oversight of the academic support provided under the COMPASS programme
- Assist CDP in the management of the Academic Services budget for the College
- Assist CDP in the College strategic planning processes
- Manage the Academic Services Team for the College
- Lead the HR process for College Academic Teaching and Academic Services staff including recruitment, induction, contracts and schedules
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Admissions to develop student number plans, forecasts and budgets
- Lead the College Academic Teaching staff induction and development programmes
- Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding college information and student files
- Participate in enrolment and orientation activities
- Carry out duties as may be required by the CDP

**Director of Education and Academic Services Requirements**:

- Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a discipline relevant to one of those offered by the college
- Evidence of work-related professional development
- Recognised Teaching qualification (L6 or above)
- Demonstrate English language at B1 level or above, which could include a bachelor's or master's level degree awarded in the UK
- Good understanding of the UK Higher Education system
- Successful record of managing people, budgets and resources
- Experience of implementing strategies, standards and practices
- Deliver focused: driving though change whilst ensuring outcomes are met
- Understand and respect the critical interface between budget management, quality assurance and student recruitment
- Understand the dynamic and often volatile nature of international education export business and need therefore to provide best practice levels of care, advice and support to students
- Substantial experience in leading curriculum design including the management and evaluation of learning and teaching effectiveness.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including University personnel, agents and government organisations
- Think logically and coherently
- Articulate, highly motivated, disciplined, team-orientated
- Possess highly developed interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
- Well-developed problem-solving, decision-making, team-building and
- Demonstrate leadership and coordination skills in an education environment
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
