We are currently looking for a PA to provide 1:1 care for a young child due to be starting at nursery in September 2023 (there will be extensive training prior to the start date).

We are looking for someone dedicated and open minded who has the confidence to work with a child with complex medical needs.

The primary aim of the role is to support the child on transport to and from home to nursery and provide 1:1 supervision whilst there.

The child has a tracheostomy and is ventilated 24 hours a day via a transportable long term ventilator. The child is peg fed so providing a bolus feed via feeding pump will be required along with administering medication. Full training will be provided over the course of several months. You will be supported by nursery staff on the day to day.

The ideal PA will be a caring and patient individual, who can be be creative in engaging the young person to do activities.

Essential:
Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality. Be creative, confident and resilient.

Desirable:
Experience and understanding of communication difficulties. Experience with looking after a child with complex needs.

Hours:
September - 20 hours per week (12:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday)

Prior to September - Flexible

Salary negotiable based on experience
