**Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) are searching for an individual who is looking for an exciting new challenge. You will supervise a Materials Management Team; to ensure that the legitimate needs of customer departments are met in accordance with the Procurement Strategy and fully expand the materials management service to cover the entire Trust where a requirement is identified. To help facilitate a motivated and confident workforce, leading by example and demonstrating competent leadership qualities. To help create a professional, customer focused atmosphere, and ensure that the department achieves strong service levels to its internal clients. Working closely with the Ward leads, your fellow Receipt & Distribution operatives. No two days are the same. The team supports internal stakeholders to manage their ward budgets and generate ideas for savings and service improvement for our patients, whilst ensuring we meet the Trust values, behaviors and standards.**

Provide a second to none service for our end users.

Ensure that worked areas are kept tidy and stocked to approved levels.

Work closely with ward staff members, facilitating stock requests.

Maintain a duty of responsibility and care to patients at all times.

Support savings initiatives within the wider procurement function.

Supervisor MM operatives across all NUH sites.

You will be dedicated and have a keen eye for detail.

The Materials Management team is driven by our objectives, providing quality products, services and experiences for patients and staff.

Your working pattern would consist of 37.5 hours per week, 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday.

Annual leave starts at 27 days per annum plus bank holidays.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

**Ongoing management of the materials management service and related systems and processes to enable safe and efficient supply of goods to all serviced areas within the Trust.**

**Direct supervision of the Materials Management team, to include day-to-day operational decision making, query resolution and line manager responsibilities.**

**Query Management - To manage queries raised by customers where initial attempts by Materials Management assistants have failed to resolve, prioritising and expediting more substantial local or cross-site problems as appropriate in liaison with senior colleagues/suppliers.**

**Workload Planning - Ensuring that work scheduling of Materials Management assistants is planned to meet the demands of all serviced areas. This includes annual leave and sickness.**

**Performance Management - responsible for staff appraisals in line with Trust Human Resources policies.**

**KPIs - Capturing and reporting of Key Performance Indicators. Resolution of issues where performance levels fall below those expected.**

**Assist with statistical analysis and production of management reports as required.**

**Inventory Management - Ensure that inventory management system updates are managed in accordance with agreed processes and that agreed trust formularies are adhered to. Organise and deliver changes to the Trust-wide formulary as directed by the senior Supply Chain team and/or other senior category managers.**

**Issue Escalation - Ensure that issues requiring the Supply Chain manager’s attention are managed in accordance with agreed processes.**

**Contingency Planning - Provide cover to roles within the materials management team in the absence of others as appropriate to ensure a quality service is maintained to customers.**

**Meeting Attendances - Attend meetings with Trust departments, where appropriate, to provide operation and / or functional support.**

**Creation and maintenance of work rota and task descriptions, which are periodically amended to best reflect the Trust’s priorities and which support the overall aims and goals of the Trust and the Finance and Procurement Department.**

**Actively assist with the roll-out of the Materials Management service across the whole Trust as required.**

**Undertake the setting and monitoring of objectives for materials management assistant staff in accordance with the Trust’s Processes and SFI’s; Identify and implement training, ensuring that mandatory and other identified training is undertaken, motivate staff to reach their full potential,
