**Private Live-out House & Garden Keeper, Heathfield, East Sussex**

Are you a talented homemaker? Do you have a creative eye and obsession for attention to detail? Are you a hands-on individual who enjoys creating a stunning, orderly, and efficient home and garden? If so, you might enjoy a role running my pretty country house & garden just outside Heathfield.

Every detail of my holiday home and garden is treasured, to the extent that I prefer to share it with others who will appreciate it than leave it empty. I currently visit for holidays or short breaks about 5 times a year, either alone or with friends and family. When I’m not there, I rent the property as a high-end Holiday Home for a limited number of nights during the year.

Your role will be to clean and maintain the house as if it was you own, managing it for all visitors with the help of my EA. You will be given plenty of time to prepare and clean the house between guests and will spend more time on site when the house is empty, visiting as required (and pre-booked) when guests are on site. Whilst a flexible attitude to working hours will be needed, the majority of house will be weekdays and we will permit you to manage your own time in line with the bookings and demands of the house.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Cleaning & styling the home
- Laundry & ironing of bedding
- Light gardening (with help as needed)
- General maintenance management (with help as needed)
- Manage the technical aspects of the home from WIFI to pool

The perfect person will have an exceptional eye for detail, take huge pride in their work and enjoy the idea (and reality) of taking ownership of ‘their’ house. You be creative and practical, learning how the house works from the garden to the boiler, but be realistic that this is a highly physical role with cleaning and gardening.

To be suitable for this role you will need:

- To be happy to manage your own time, preparing the house and grounds in line with your responsibilities.
- To be happy to work alone, but also be hospitable to guests and enjoy their company, welcoming them as required.
- To be super-efficient, diarising the bookings, overseeing the regular tradesman maintenance visits.
- To be creative and enjoy styling the house in line with your training to ensure it is always presented artistically using flowers grown in the gardens.
- Ideally be a keen amateur gardener to help maintain the gardens, or happy to learn, with help already available on the bigger jobs, lawns and hedges.
- Have experience of housekeeping in a private house, hotel, or guest house.
- Be technically able and practical to the extent that you can manage the daily household machines and comms such as WIFI, Hive, TVs, etc.
- Enjoy flexible hours but accept that from time to time you may need to work with guest bookings, albeit having been given plenty of notice.
- Be physically able to be a house manager and gardener, which can involve heavy lifting of bedding, plenty of cleaning and some manual labour as required with running any large property.

**Salary**:
A generous salary will be offered in line with your experience and abilities.
