**About the role**
As a member of our newly created Small Works Team, you will be responsible for all plumbing aspects of capital project and reactive works around Edinburgh Airport. From office and toilet refurbs to passenger stairwell refreshing. You will be expected to meet and exceed ISO Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Standards.
**What you’ll be doing**
- Manage the plumbing aspect of the small works team and ensure that all projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Work with logistics for the ordering of materials required for works to be carried out.
- Meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole.
- Undertake PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) tasks as allocated.
- Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Fitting and repairing various appliances throughout the airport such as taps, toilets, pumps etc.
- Installing underground sanitary, drainage, and water supply piping systems.
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
- Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
- Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs.
- Responding to plumbing emergencies, determining the issue and making a repair as and when required
**What we’re looking for**
- Qualification at ONC/HNC level or equivalent
- SVQ/NVQ 3
- Operational knowledge of legionella control measures. Temperature testing, disinfecting, tank inspections, calorifier maintenance etc.
- Good communication skills
- Problem solver
- Knowledge of any relevant National regulations or standards
- Well organised and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in commercial buildings.
- Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
