JOB SUMMARY:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and drive the product strategy for assigned portfolio in order to achieve defined KPI’s and aligned to overall business strategy. KPI are primarily based on: sales, margin, inventory, customer count and market share growth.
- Manage the overall product range throughout the relevant life cycles with emphasis on introducing new technologies, maximising opportunities with maturing products and ensuring the successful exit of end of life products. Inventory range, depth, stocked / non stocked propositions and location proposition to be closely managed utilising a data driven approach.
- Own the full business relationship, strategy, business plan execution and KPI performance for directly assigned suppliers. For indirectly assigned suppliers ensure portfolio actions are taken that are aligned with the overall supplier strategy as defined by the supplier lead.
- Be responsible for identifying, approaching and engaging potential new suppliers who can support the overall product portfolio strategy.
- Create strategies and actions in order to drive transactional margin growth primarily through effective management of product buy and sell costs. Additionally, consideration should be given to overall net margin impact through assessing additional business costs such as storage, picking and freight costs.
- Manage the portfolio’s overall inventory health including financial budgets, turns, line fill, availability and provision aligned to defined KPI’s.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing & E-commerce in order to develop and execute effective holistic go to market strategies that deliver sales, margin and customer count growth. Ensure that defined strategies are in place to develop and deliver both on-line and off-line transactional business.
- Become an expert in assigned product portfolio, the relevant technologies, supplier base and the end markets served. Understand both current and upcoming market trends in order to create and execute proactive strategies to be able to capitalize on these insights.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Essential:

- Experience of creating and executing product strategies.
- Experience of working with or in sales and marketing.
- Strong quantitative and data management skills.
- Experience leading commercial projects involving internal & external stakeholders.
- Ability to research and understand regional and global markets.
- Strong communication skills.

Desirable:

- Knowledge/experience of working in electronics components industry/and or distribution.
- Product merchandising in an ecommerce or catalogue business.
- Experience succeeding in a Global Matrix organisation.
- 5 years + experience in a similar role.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION(S):

- Degree level or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
