If you’re a handyman or woman - bit of DIY here; repairing there; know how to keep a vehicle safe, legal and roadworthy; that sort of thing - and all the while contributing to a positive impact on the lives of young people, then you’ll feel right at homein this job.
You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our specialist school and homes up and running, drive the vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the grounds and gardens are kept looking spick and span. Our childrenand young people have special education needs and your role will be key in creating a safe environment for them. You’ll be a familiar, friendly face and the youngsters will sometimes stop to chat to you. This is something you’ll be comfortable with, but we’llalso give you some training on child safeguarding to give you that extra confidence.

The kind of person we’re looking for will:
- Definitely have some maintenance skills, either professionally or as a DIY enthusiast

- Have a calm, happy, helpful way that gets things done without fuss or fanfare
- Be confident taking responsibility for buying smaller pieces of maintenance equipment
- Willingly undertake Health & Safety and other relevant training
- Be happy to undergo a DBS check
About us
We’re a leading specialist provider of education and care for children and young people with behavioural, emotional, communication and complex learning needs.

- Up to 5% contributory pension scheme
- Private Health Care for you and your family
- Comprehensive induction programme and exceptional ongoing training
