MARS Recruitment is proud to have exclusively partnered a market leading manufacturer of scientific instrumentation to recruit a skilled Workshop Assembly Technician who possesses excellent mechanical based skills. This business has steadily grown over thelast 20 years but are going through a period of exciting change which you could be part of. Having recently launched a new cutting-edge product which is getting rave reviews and orders from customers, they have just moved into a state-of-the-art manufacturingsite with amazing offices.
The successful Workshop Assembly Technician will be joining a small team who deal with a range of electro-mechanical and electrical assembly and testing. You will be given a voice by the Operations Director to suggest and help improve the new facility, productionand material flow.
On a day-to-day basis, the Workshop Assembly Technician will be building high tech instrumentation. You will focus on the mechanical elements of the build, including bending, welding and brazing. Some light conventional and CNC milling, turning of componentsto drawn specifications. If you enjoy a hands-on mechanical workshop role, then this will be perfect for you.
About you:
The successful Workshop Assembly Technician will need to be an enthusiastic and self-motivated technician with excellent mechanical, analytical and technical skills. You will also have a combination of the following:

- Apprenticeship, BTEC I/II, ONC, HNC or HND in Engineering
- No formal qualifications will be considered if demonstrable work experience, relevant to the role, can be proven
- A background in low-volume manufacture of hand-built scientific instrumentation
- Ideally experience with cryogenics technology
Our client is offering an excellent salary of £30,000pa - £38,000pa, plus a yearly bonus, pension, flexible working, and an early finish Friday. This role would really suit someone who wants to develop and grow over the coming years.
