**Overview**:
**We have a fantastic opportunity for a brand-new role of an Adolescent Service Coordinator.**

This role will sit in the new Edge of Care /Adolescent Service. The role will involve ensuring that we support children to remain in their families whenever they can, and you will ensure the right support is offered in a timely way to young people and their families. You will work alongside another Adolescent Service Coordinator to provide cover both at weekends and in the evenings as needed.

**About the role**:
You will coordinate the delivery of ‘edge of care’ interventions, ensuring that children are matched to the most appropriate professional or team within the adolescent service. You will supervise 4 x adolescent service youth workers, ensuring that arrangements are in place for an agile, swift response to need, including out of hours support.

To ensure the effective delivery of youth work interventions by the Adolescent Service Youth Workers. Working closing with social workers and other professionals to ensure that adolescents and those at risk of entering care receive the correct support at the right time.

You will assist the Head of First Response, Assessment Teams, Family Group Conference, & EDSWT with the promotion of the service across the organisation.

**About you**:
**To be successful in this role you will need the following skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Educated to first-degree level and /or relevant qualification in relevant field and proven experience working with children and families in the field of social work, childcare, education, or child health.
- Ability to lead a team to meet the needs of children who are at risk of entering the care system.
- Knowledge and understanding of the complex needs of children open to children’s social care, as well as evidence of work with adolescents involved in the justice system, exploitation or as care leavers.
- Ability to promote and facilitate the participation of children and young people and their families, ensuring their views and needs are central to service delivery and outcomes.
- Ability to mediate, negotiate and promote family-based problem solving;
- Have effective communication and active listening skills; the ability to work creatively and flexibly and communicate effectively at all levels with a range of individuals, in a variety of different manners, on complex or legal issues;
- Ability to co-ordinate, facilitate and chair complex meetings.
- Ability to use your initiative to deal with complex issues and respond appropriately in an unpredictable work environment
