Biocomposites is a world leader in the development of innovative calcium compounds for surgical use. Our products target a broad spectrum of infection risks across a variety of specialties, including musculoskeletal infection, orthopaedics, trauma, spine, foot and ankle and podiatry. The STIMULAN® products are the first calcium matrices to receive approval to treat bacterial infection in soft tissue surrounding bone, and European approval for mixing with antibiotics such as vancomycin, gentamicin and tobramycin, for use in bone and soft tissue.
We are distinct in that our team of specialists is singularly focused on the development of innovative calcium compounds and all research, manufacture and distribution takes place at our headquarters in Keele, England. In 2022, Her Majesty the Queen honoured us with two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Innovation and International Trade in recognition of the impact of STIMULAN in infection cases and our outstanding continuous growth in overseas sales of more than 200% over six years. Biocomposites products are now used in over 120,000 procedures every year and sold in more than 40 countries around the world.
**The role**
As the Executive Assistant Apprentice you will receive best in class training and development, and gain exposure to many different business areas and functions, including marketing, finance, sales and manufacturing. You will also learn how a global manufacturing business in the healthcare industries operates on a daily basis.
**What you will do in your working day**
- Learning how to use multiple electronic diaries, assessing priority of appointments and reallocation as necessary
- Learning how to book travel arrangements (including flights /trains / visas / accommodation) efficiently
- Help to Organise meetings for internal and external attendees, booking meeting rooms, arranging Teams calls worldwide, sending out invites, preparing agendas and meeting papers
- Minute meetings and distribute the minutes whilst shadowing the PA to the CEO
- Understand different international time zones on various office locations
- Prepare and coordinate agendas
- Builds understanding of different internal business departments and develops deep knowledge of these different areas
- Understand and complete credit card statements using SAP concur
- Learn how to Raise Purchase Orders and understand the various cost centers
- Preparing and distributing reports
- Working on our front of house reception, greeting visitors and making them feel welcome
- Support the PA to the CEO with a full range of administration duties including electronic filing, typing, photocopying, scanning, shredding
- Co-ordinates and participation in various business projects
- Event planning and co-ordination
- Any other duties as may be required by the Directors or the PA to the CEO
**The training you will be getting**
- Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification
- You will spend four days a week in the workplace and one day a week at Newcastle College
