The Opportunity

If you’re not already an established MCIPS qualified Buyer and seeking the next step to becoming one, this is an ideal opportunity for the next step in a semi-established Buyer’s career. This Buyer role is required within a large company’s central team operating within an exciting, fast paced, client driven / facing environment. to a wide range of complex and sophisticated clients throughout the UK. Operating in the corporate, healthcare, education, retail & leisure and local authority & central government sectors, the company creates and implements bespoke solutions to improve the performance and value derived from non-core activity.

The Role

The key purpose of the role is to drive the department strategies and processes and ensuring compliance across the business and delivery of the agreed business targets and saving through a Business Partnering approach.
- Support the Procurement & Supply Chain department in the delivery of strategic Procurement across the Group.
- Develop and execute a strategic sourcing programme for all high value spend categories delivering optimum value for money.
- Delivering procurement saving initiatives by proactively working with the Finance team to ensure Procurement savings figures are accurately tracked, measured and validated;
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to maintain positive and open relationships;
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the senior leadership team on all matters relating to Procurement activity and strategy;
- To support the Procurement & Supply Chain team with supplier development plans to address supplier under-performance where contractual breaches have occurred;
- Maintain and drive a consistent and professional approach to all sourcing activity through structured and cross-functional working practices
- Undertake bench marking analysis and market testing for key clients where required

Core competencies should include exposure to category management principles and systemic approaches to procurement, ideally within a multi stake holder environment. Ideally, you’ll also be able to draft supply contracts and possess good project management skills.

Advantageous (but not essential) would be knowledge around tenders, MCIPS qualified or working towards and Facilities Management / Public Sector Procurement would be distinctly advantageous

The Benefits

Salary guide c£30k pending level of experience and qualification. Study support for MCIPS will be offered where required. There’s also a contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday and retail discount scheme.
