Datix System Administrator

The System Administrator role is a pivotal position within the Quality & Standards Directorate. You will work closely with the Patient Safety and Patient Experience teams, supporting the core functions the local risk management system (Datix cloud).
In this role, you will be undertaking varied work, and have changing priorities. You will need to be able to adapt and arrange your work dependant on the challenge at hand. The core function of the role is to manage information within the local risk management system, which is Datix cloud IQ. This role will include:
User access management
Development and maintenance of reporting forms
Data validation and quality assurance
data reporting and analysis in various formats.
Experience of working with Datix risk management software is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
This is a key role within our department, and gives you the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of work that improve patients outcomes and experience.
This role will be predominately working on-site, but there will be flexible working from home options available for discussion.

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years.
We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.
Ensure that all information within the modules of Datix is accurate and up-to-date for investigation and reporting purposes
Use initiative to ensure that all required information has been entered onto the report and highlight any omission
Support the development, maintenance and management of the Trust management system, including designing and building electronic forms.
Grant and manage access to the Datix databases and ensure relevant people receive appropriate notifications for information (e.g. moving and handling, infection control, security, finance, safeguarding) and forward incident reports to the appropriate Senior Manager for investigation.
Highlight where any reports to external organisations need to be made, e.g. HSE, MHRA, and be responsible for submitting the report and providing additional information as required.
Highlight any failures to complete investigations within the designated timescale to handler, and initiate escalation process to the responsible person in a staged process.
Update the database with any new or additional information relating to an incident report during or following investigation.
Take responsibility for updating the reports schedule in line with the requirements of the divisions and various trust committees.
Plan, design and produce scheduled and ad hoc reports from Datix for Quality and Standards Leads and committees, to include data analysis and recommendations for change where appropriate.
