Aughton Surgery is looking for a part-time GP Receptionist to work 28 hours per week.
Whilst normal working days and hours will be set on a rota, there will be plenty of opportunity for additional hours and overtime.

Reception/Admin Duties:
- General medical reception duties such as greeting patients, booking appointments and dealing with queries
- Answering phone calls
- Actioning tasks received from clinical staff
- Administrative and clerical support to clinical and management team
- Liaise with external parties such as secondary care, community teams and care homes
- Direct patients to appropriate services
The above list is not exhaustive, and other reception/admin duties would be required as needed by the practice.
About us
Aughton Surgery has 3 partners (2 Clinical and 1 Business Partner), 2 Salaried GP's, 1 ANP, 1 Physician Associate, 2 Practice Nurses and 1 Healthcare Assistant. We are also a training practice, so we regularly have GP registrars, medical students and student nurses as part of our team as well.
Our clinical staff are assisted by a friendly and knowledgeable admin/reception team.
All staff are highly supportive, and the surgery is a very enjoyable environment to work in
Job description
The purpose of the role is to:
- Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team where practical.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
