- **Hours**: 1 x 30 hours per week (10 shifts per months), 1x 27 hours per week (9 shifts per month)

plus £15 night payment per shift.
- **About This opportunity**
- 21 Huntley Avenue is a Short Breaks Childrens Home based in Penrith, Cumbria offering residential short breaks to children and young people with learning and physical disabilities, autism, and complex needs, including behaviours that challenge. We encourage inclusion, ensuring that the children and young people are part of the wider community, through outings and activities we aim to provide a fun and stimulating environments for all our young people.
- **About the role**
- As a Waking Residential Night Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

- Providing excellent standards of individualised care during a waking night shift.
- Meeting the emotional, physical, and developmental needs of the children and young people as required during the night shift.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the children and young people, their families, and other professionals.
- Assisting the children with personal care, assisting children with their morning routines and getting ready for school.
- Administering medication if or when required.
- Supporting with housekeeping, cooking, and cleaning.
- High portion of lone working
- Maintaining clear and accurate records over the shift
- Contribute to the care planning and evidence recording as well as other administrative duties.
- Effective communication for handovers from team to team.

**Key Requirements**
- Display a patient and resilient attitude.
- Display compassion, positivity, and fun.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Previous experience of working in a similar setting is desirable.
- An understanding of working with children and young people who have a learning disability, autism and display challenging behaviours.

**This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.**
