Unsocial hours pay as follows:
+33% of basic hourly rate for working between 8pm and 6am weekdays
+50% of basic hourly rate for working over weekends and bank holidays

At Oxfordshire Mind, we believe that no one should have to face a mental health difficulty alone. Our Safe Haven service offers somewhere to turn for those experiencing mental health crisis by providing timely same-day support. This bespoke mental health service offers a tailored alternative to the A&E department.
Following recent expansion, we are looking for to grow our Bank of Temporary Workers and are looking for Crisis Support Workers to provide much needed support, we are open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Support we offer is one to one (face to face or on the phone), or in a group setting. It is based on respect and listening skills and non-clinical interventions like safety planning, risk assessment, grounding, and relaxation. This is an excellent opportunity to join our caring and dynamic team and to make a positive difference in the lives of those we support.
In the Safe Haven team, we are currently a team of 20 employees across 2 sites; we place a high value on mutual support, sharing our wide-ranging knowledge and expertise and maintaining close working relationships. There are lots of opportunities for staff to develop areas of interest on an individual and team basis. We are committed to the wellbeing of our staff, and this remains a high priority alongside providing excellent support for our service users.

**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**
- To work as part of a team to provide support for service users experiencing mental health crisis, including monitoring of group activities and conducting 1:1 sessions with service users face to face, on the phone and via online platforms.
- Support service users to develop self-management strategies and produce plans to make the best use of the local resources around them, to increase their ability to effectively manage mental health crisis.
- Ensure the wellbeing and safety of service users, conduct regular risk assessments and report any risk or safeguarding concerns to your line manager and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate case records within the required data collection and reporting system.
- Liaise with statutory mental health teams, other agencies, and/or emergency services as appropriate to ensure service users receive safe and appropriate support and a consistent approach to crisis management.
- Take opportunities to promote the service to relevant professionals and members of the public and contribute to promotional materials as required.

Essential experience*
a) Experience of working within mental health, wellbeing or similar services.
b) Experience of supporting others in mental health crisis to ensure safe resolution or management of crisis.
c) Experience of working in an often-demanding environment and coping effectively

d) Positive attitude and understanding of mental health and sensitivity to the needs of people living with mental health problems.
e) Ability to deal effectively and calmly with challenging situations
