An exciting opportunity has arisen for aPractice Education Trainer to join our Post Registration team,based at our Colchester Hospital site.

This post will consist of classroom teaching of clinical skills, induction, care certificate and our 12-month development programme for Bands 2-4. You will be supporting the assessment of care certificate standards and clinical skills, providing support to band 2-4 staff within their clinical areas. The post holder will be expected to provide pastoral support and signposting to a range of well-being health services as relevant.

You will need to be self-motivated, displaying current high-level skills in clinical work. You will have confidence in presenting learning content in an engaging manner, both face to face and through virtual platforms. Passion to develop and support others is essential combined with the ability to build relationships rapidly. You will be an excellent networker and able to confidently liaise with all non-medical professional staff groups to support learning as many of our programmes are multi-disciplinary.

While this post is Colchester based, there may be travel required and a need to support the teams on either Ipswich site or within the community.
- To coordinate the planning and delivery of Band 2-4 training programmes within the Post-Registration team.
- To facilitate non-registrants to achieve their national Care Certificate and relevant competencies
- To support the Post-Registration team to deliver identified clinical skills training for non-registered staff across the Trust

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
Communication and leadership
- Acts as a role model to develop and encourage harmonious working relationships and professional rapport.
- Adopts a leadership style that motivates and empowers staff in attaining and developing high standards of patient care and professional development.

**Education**:

- Coordinate programmes to meet all requirements of the National Care Certificate and ensure is mapped across to any additional local competencies.
- Coordinate the delivery of teaching sessions within non-registrant training programmes
- Responsible for delivering identified clinical skills training.
- Responsible for enabling non-registrants to achieve the Care Certificate within national timescales assisting with skills and competencies as required.
- Facilitate completion of any additional Trust competencies as identified by Head of Nursing/Midwifery/professional leads for AHPs.
- Work in clinical areas providing 1:1 support for non-registrants in collaboration with ward staff, Buddies and Practice Educators.
- Work flexibly to ensure delivery of training programmes within the Post-Registration team.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate supervision records in line with trust policies.
- Providing regular updates to the Lead Practice Educator-Post-Registration on programme management and trainee progress. Advise on outstanding issues related to the non-registered workforce.
- Responsible for managing own workload to deliver key objectives of Post-Registration team
- Work with Post-Registration team to develop the learning environment for all learners across the Trust
