Following a significant increase in long term customer demand, this world-class manufacturer is embarking on a multifaceted programme of transformation. To deliver this programme a newly created role within the leadership team has been created.

You will report to the group Chief Operating Officer and will manage an established team of improvement engineers with the prime responsibility deliver significant improvements in labour efficiency, product quality and working capital.

Currently, there is a view that the transformation will be delivered through a series of initiatives which will include, but not limited to, the following:

- The deployment of Lean principles throughout the organization.
- The deployment and use of the tools typically found within the Lean Toolbox such as 5S, 8D problem solving, single piece flow etc.
- The facilitation of Kaizen events and other forms of improvement workshops.
- The coaching and training of potentially all employees within the business and including senior leadership.
- The management and coordination of all activities within the improvement program.
- The facilitation of appropriate KPIs and reports recognizing that ownership of KPIs lies with line management and that the reporting task is largely administrative. IT enablement will be provided to minimise time spent on this activity.

To be considered, you will need to have the breadth and depth of experience in modern, world-class manufacturing practices across all business functions and systems (engineering, operations, quality, supply chain and finance.

You will also have the experience to influence, educate, motivate, and communicate at all levels within the business. Plus, additionally, you will be expected to pursue career advancement within the group following completion of short to medium term deliverables.
