**MI Systems & Business Intelligence Lead**
**(Hybrid Remote Available)**

**The role**:
The post holder will be responsible for the organisational leadership and guidelines to promote the development and exploitation of business intelligence solutions in the organisation.
**Responsible to**:
The postholder is responsible to the Assistant Principal MIS & Apprenticeships.
**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:
- Will take a lead role in strategic implementation and decision making of the strategic objectives in relation to MI Systems and Business Intelligence.
- Lead on forecasting, scenario planning and modelling. To be able to integrate planning solutions and perform a forecast of student numbers. To integrate assumptions and intelligence from external funding bodies into internal forecasting models.
- To train, motivate and foster commitment from individual members of the team in order to reach agreed targets and objectives.
- Provide ongoing support to the Assistant Principal and Senior Management team and continually implement and develop an integrated planning cycle and provide analysis of planning submissions across the College. Ensure that planning submissions are in-line with the strategic direction of the College and that outcomes of plans are effectively reported measured and monitored.
- Have sole responsibilities for the development of all reporting infrastructure and be experienced in the use and development of current software.
- To lead the development of management College reporting needs, including the use of tools such as SQL, SSRS and PowerBI.
- To develop and compile monthly/annual management information reports for presentation to/sharing with relevant College Managers.
- To control, monitor and account for the expenditure of College resources, which may be allocated under current or future budget delegation schemes.
- Use your data management and analytical skills, together with business acumen, to understand needs and objectives and incorporate them into integrated information solutions that will help the organisation improve.
- To advise staff on methods of accessing information and to provide in-house training for staff in the use of MIS systems and other systems as appropriate.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and development of the Student Record and Examination Systems.
- To support the College’s Statutory Data Protection Officer in promoting and ensuring the College fulfils its obligations and requirements under data protection law.
- To review and update policies and procedures as necessary.
**General**
- To be a member of internal and external committees and working parties and to Chair them as appropriate.
- To prepare and present reports as appropriate to internal and/or external committees.
- To maintain a current knowledge of relevant developments and legal issues in respect of your area of responsibility, and ensure that appropriate colleagues are briefed, to ensure that the College meets its obligations.
- To monitor and maintain College policies and procedures in relation to all aspects of the post’s responsibilities.
- To be responsible for, and ensure compliance with, Health and Safety requirements within the sections.
- To lead and promote effective Risk Management (including Health and Safety), using College policies and procedures, within the Department.
- To actively promote the positive development of equality and diversity within the department and the College.
- To contribute to cross College development activities including:
- Enrolment
- Admissions
- College based promotional events
- Off-site promotional events
- Use College IT systems in order to complete your duties and responsibilities.
- To carry out any other duties which may be required from time to time and which are commensurate with the post.
The above duties are indicative of the requirements of the post at the time of recruitment. It is management policy that roles and responsibilities are reviewed on a regular basis leading to possible modifications where appropriate. Staff may be asked to undertake other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the post, at the initial place of work or at other locations from which the College operates.

**Experience**
Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract information E A/I
Experience of using the Pro suite of student records systems D A/I
Ability to produce reports in Power BI D A/I
Experience of co-ordinating/chairing meetings D A/I
**Knowledge, Skills and Attributes**
A knowledge and understanding of the FE sector. E A/I
