Barista/supervisor

White Dove Coffee Roasters is a family run café, artisan roastery and art space. Located in Linlithgow next to Tesco and on the High Street in Linlithgow, we aim to create a warm, cosy environment, serving premium cakes and freshly roasted, organic coffee.

**Supervisor/Barista**:We are looking for a Supervisor/Barista to join our small, friendly team. The Café Supervisor/Barista will assist the Café Manager and other Baristas through playing a part in the daily operation and service of the Café.

**Main Duties**:
1. Hands on role in the delivery of food and drinks and all aspects of customer service in the Café.

2. Oversee the timely provision of drinks and food to a consistently high standard.

3. Supervise the team on their shift.

4. Take responsibility for the smooth running of the Café when the Café manager is not on duty/site and follow established procedures.

5. Take responsibility for setting up and cleaning up, including closing the till at the end of day.

6. Help to ensure that the Café is fully compliant with appropriate health and safety and food safety legislation.

7. Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers, other staff and volunteers.

8. Support staff with on-the-job training as required.

9. Handle deliveries and stock taking.

10. Light cooking of daily croissants/pies and prepping of sandwiches.

**Person Specification**:
**Essential**:
1. Minimum of 2 years in the café service industry, and 3 years working within hospitality.

2. Experienced Barista.

3. Working knowledge of food health and safety requirements.

4. Experience in managing staff.

5. Experience in staff training.

6. Calm and friendly attitude with an attention to detail.

7. Punctual in time keeping and reliable.

8. Able to work weekends. Must include Saturday and/or Sunday.

9. Be willing to cover other staff members if they call in sick.

10. Good communication skills (written and verbal).

11. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

12. Be warm and welcoming with a genuine desire to welcome and serve customers to a high standard.

13. Must love dogs as we are dog friendly.

**Desirable**:
1. Trained in coffee art

2. Knowledgeable about coffee and tea from around the world.

3. Be enthusiastic and willing to talk about arts and crafts.

4. Based locally, or within a short drive.

Part time and full-time hours available - Must include Saturday and/or Sunday. Hours of work are between 7.15am-6.30pm depending on the shift and day. Employment will be split between two sites located close to each other in Linlithgow.

**Salary**: £10.42-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 36 per week
