White Dove Coffee Roasters is a family run café, artisan roastery and art space. Located in Linlithgow next to Tesco and on the High Street in Linlithgow, we aim to create a warm, cosy environment, serving premium cakes and freshly roasted, organic coffee.
Supervisor/Barista:
We are looking for a Supervisor/Barista to join our small, friendly team.
The Café Supervisor/Barista will assist the Café Manager and other Baristas through playing a part in the daily operation and service of the Café.
Main Duties:
- Hands on role in the delivery of food and drinks and all aspects of customer service in the Café.
- Oversee the timely provision of drinks and food to a consistently high standard.
- Supervise the team on their shift.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the Café when the Café manager is not on duty/site and follow established procedures.
- Take responsibility for setting up and cleaning up, including closing the till at the end of day.
- Help to ensure that the Café is fully compliant with appropriate health and safety and food safety legislation.
- Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers, other staff and volunteers.
- Support staff with on-the-job training as required.
- Handle deliveries and stock taking.
- Light cooking of daily croissants/pies and prepping of sandwiches.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years in the café service industry, and 3 years working within hospitality.
- Experienced Barista.
- Working knowledge of food health and safety requirements.
- Experience in managing staff.
- Experience in staff training.
- Calm and friendly attitude with an attention to detail.
- Punctual in time keeping and reliable.
- Able to work weekends. Must include Saturday and/or Sunday.
- Be willing to cover other staff members if they call in sick.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be warm and welcoming with a genuine desire to welcome and serve customers to a high standard.
- Must love dogs as we are dog friendly.
Desirable:
- Trained in coffee art
- Knowledgeable about coffee and tea from around the world.
- Be enthusiastic and willing to talk about arts and crafts.
- Based locally, or within a short drive.
