About Us

We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.

We are currently looking for a Research Officer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As a Research Officer, you will support the development and delivery of research and statistics on education assessment and qualifications to support policy decision making.

Contributing to our research, you will conduct literature reviews, surveys, interviews and focus groups, before analysing and reporting results to produce publishable articles.

Providing research support across our organisation, you will support colleagues with advice on research design, methodologies and analysis whilst offering constructive and informative feedback.

About You

**To be considered as a Research Officer, you will need**:

- Experience of designing and conducting small scale research projects
- Experience of summarising research conducted by other people
- A sound understanding of good practice in research and professional standards
- Good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Excellent communication skills
- At a minimum a degree (or equivalent) in a social science with substantial research training

Experience of reviewing and providing feedback on research completed by other people would be highly beneficial, as would a working knowledge of the software used in research.

It would be advantageous to have knowledge of either the education sector across the UK or knowledge of education research. The ability to speak Welsh as well as English would also be desirable.

This post may require occasional travel and overnight stay.

Gan gyfrannu at ein hymchwil, byddwch yn cynnal adolygiadau llenyddiaeth, arolygon, cyfweliadau a grwpiau ffocws, cyn dadansoddi ac adrodd ar ganlyniadau i gynhyrchu erthyglau y gellir eu cyhoeddi.

Gan ddarparu cymorth ymchwil ar draws ein sefydliad, byddwch yn cefnogi cydweithwyr gyda chyngor ar ddylunio ymchwil, methodolegau a dadansoddi tra'n cynnig adborth adeiladol ac addysgiadol.
