**Introduction**

The UK Boeing Test and Evaluation Team require an Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle Operator. The person chosen to fill this position will form part of an exciting team focussed on developing Autonomous Aviation capability within the UK. The individual must have extensive aviation experience and should have knowledge of general aircraft maintenance, operations and regulatory compliance. Previous experience in leadership and supervision of flying operations is vital, and a recognised instructional qualification is desirable.

The role requires an individual with good communication skills, with the ability to distribute and sequence technical work requirements within the team, controlling demanding workloads, whilst delivering to a high standard. The individual should possess a solid understanding of both the CAA and MAA Regulatory Articles (RA) related to Uncrewed Systems.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Plan and remotely conduct ground, flight and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype and production UAV aircraft to determine system functionality, aircraft performance and structural integrity of the air vehicle.
- Develop and coordinate flight test plans, mission plans, procedures and techniques to achieve qualification or certification.
- Develop technical reports and flight reports.
- Evaluate flight data and collaborate in design to recommend changes based on operational considerations.
- Participate in programme planning and support for safety activities.
- Identify risks, issues and opportunities and support the development of mitigation plans.
- Support the further development and maintenance of safety process.
- Plan and conduct maintenance, production and acceptance test flights.
- Identify and detail flight deficiencies and coordinate resolution.

**Position Requirements**
- Experience in Extended and Beyond Visual Line Of Sight and Multi-aircraft operations
- Experience of operating under MAA and/or CAA regulation within the Specific and/or Certified Category
- Be fully aware of general aviation principles and have detailed experience of flying in the UK
- Able to identify when safety within the flying environment may be compromised and can be relied upon to act decisively to improve aviation safety
- The role will have significant UK MoD and wider Boeing interface and therefore a person who is diplomatic whilst being strong minded is required.

**Desirable Proficiencies/qualifications**:

- National Qualified Entity - Certificate of Pilot Competence
- Collaborate in the design and development of UAV control stations
- Able to pass a CAA Class 2 medical
- An instructional aviation qualification is desirable but not essential
