This is a full-time post offered on a fixed contract for 12 months. Shift pattern: Mon - Fri 9-5pm

Assistant Psychologist required for a fixed term post/secondment in a tier 3 CAMHS team.

CAMHS is undergoing significant investment to better meet the needs of children and young people with moderate to severe mental health problems. It is an exciting time of innovation and change with lots of opportunities within CAMHS. We are looking for enthusiastic assistant psychologists to join with us on this innovative improvement journey.

This post holder:

- will provide support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Specialist Children’s Services, across all sectors of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- will also assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work. There are also opportunities for peer supervision.
- will have an honours degree in Psychology at 2:1 or above and preferably prior relevant NHS experience and experience of working with young people and their families/carers.
- will join a group of 70-80 Psychologists working with children and young people in a variety of settings with good professional support and supervision, plus strong working relationships with other disciplines and agencies. The service has strong links both with the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and the University of Edinburgh MSc Course in Applied Psychology for Children and Adolescents.
