Plant Hire Controller

As OCU Group moves further into 2023, our path of significant growth continues. This has allowed us to expand across all departments. We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Hire Controller to join our Plant and Transport team in our Levenshulme depot.

The purpose of the role is to provide day-to-day administrative support to the internal Plant Hire department. Working in a structured manner and to set deadlines and timeframes. Attention to detail and accuracy of information forms a critical component of this role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure Hire, Off-Hires, Transfer of Plant requests are updated regularly to ensure customer & supplier information is 100% reflective.
- Manage requests from the Plant and Traffic Management System in a timely fashion to meet our customer requirements, ensuring all plant is hired out at agreed rates.
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the OCU Plant mailbox.
- Raise order numbers via Syrinx/Sage, forward orders to relevant suppliers to ensure equipment is allocated against the appropriate contracts.
- Carry out general administrative tasks set by department managers as and when required.
- Assist departmental manager with the swift resolution of supplier invoice queries.
- Full training will can be given.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Proficiency in PC operating systems (Word / Excel / Outlook)
- Self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative; enthusiastic with ‘can do’ attitude.
- Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
- Good problem-solving skills, the ability to anticipate potential problems and overcome them effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Good understanding of customer service.
- Previous experience within a plant and transport operation would be an advantage.
