**YOUR ROLE**:
You will be part of the BIOVIA Materials Science R&D team, closely interacting with scientists, software engineers, and marketing and product management representatives.
The project will introduce you to state-of-the-art commercial modeling tools such as Materials Studio and Pipeline Pilot. Additional scientific input can be provided via academic contacts that BIOVIA has with the leading universities in the UK.
BIOVIA Materials Studio is a complete modeling and simulation environment designed to allow researchers in materials science and chemistry to predict and understand the relationships of a material’s atomic and molecular structure with its properties and behavior. Using Materials Studio, researchers in many industries are engineering better-performing materials of all types, including catalysts, polymers, composites, metals, alloys, pharmaceuticals, batteries, and more.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work on the project that goal is to improve the robustness of their execution, which is especially important in cloudbased environment on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
- The project will implement automatic capture of common problems for various solvers and automatically deal with them in an appropriate fashion.
- This work will encapsulate expert knowledge of potential reasons for e.g. slow convergence of electronic structure calculations or geometry optimization.
- The result of the project will be an increased throughput in computational experiments in HPC and better utilization of computational resources by BIOVIA customers.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- You are expected to have completed or be in the final stages of a degree
- level education in either materials science, physics, or chemistry.
- The use of materials modeling software is a bonus.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, or similar)
