Procurement Governance Lead

**The Opportunity**: Reporting to the Masterdata and Governance Manager, this role offers an opportunity to have a significant impact on Westrock. The primary responsibility will be to own and support the EU procurement team by developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, systems, tools, and trackers for supplier governance activities. In addition, this role will involve training the procurement team in related tools, policies, and good practices. It will also include training and supporting teams outside of procurement in understanding Westrock's policies and processes, such as Quality.

**How You Will Impact Westrock**:

- Act as the referent for all global and regional procurement policies, ensuring a profound understanding of these policies.
- Identify gaps and conflicts between global policies and local requirements, recommending solutions to the Procurement Leadership Team.
- Identify compliance gaps and take accountability for closing them.
- Drive the digitalization of tools and trackers used for governance activities, including defining requirements, testing/debugging solutions, and providing training and support during roll-out.
- Act as the referent for all regional templates and support the Procurement Team in their process definition activities.
- Drive supplier governance activities in accordance with SOPs.
- Guide and support the Procurement team in addressing ad-hoc supplier risks.
- Serve as a back-up for MD&G team members in their absence.
- Mentor junior team members and support their development.

**Experience/Skills Required**:

- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of all procurement activities.
- Commercial and legal acumen.
- Continuous improvement and project management skills.
- Communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers of various levels. Training is a significant aspect of the role, requiring pedagogical skills.
- Adaptability, willingness to learn, and customer satisfaction orientation.
- Ability to sort and input information accurately and quickly from various sources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programmes
