The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Youth Justice Service (YJS), responsible for the development and delivery of effective and innovative interventions and reparation projects to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people, using trauma informed and restorative approaches.

**Responsibilities**:

- To identify, develop and deliver effective, evidence-based and accredited interventions and reparation activities in both a group setting and on a 1:1 basis
- To meaningfully engage young people and by means of assessment in cooperation with the YJS officer, ensure they are matched to the appropriate intervention and reparation activities
- To monitor and record the progress of each young person, providing feedback to the YJS officer and accrediting body in line with relevant procedures

**About You**

The suitable applicant will have the following;
- Knowledge or practical experience of working with young people with complex needs
- Knowledge or practical experience of designing and implementing interventions and reparation activities for young people involved in the youth justice system
- An understanding of the issues and challenges that young people face through adolescence
- Knowledge of the Youth Justice System, Trauma Informed Practice and Safeguarding procedures
- Ability to undertake assessments and identify the needs of young people to be able to assess and formulate possible interventions.
- Ability to work in partnership with YJS case managers and other professionals to support effective intervention plans to manage risk of harm.

12 month Fixed term only contract (this role is not being offered as a secondment)
