This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

As a Barclays Fixed Income Financing Funding and Liquidity Management, you will be part of the desk that provides leverage to a well-established client franchise by lending cash or securities - either through a repurchase agreement or margin lending agreement. You will be responsible to cover a range of bond products across a financial institutional client base. The desk generates revenue by capturing bid-offer spread from client trades while managing market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty credit risk.

**What will you be doing?**
- Being responsible for developing tools to gain insight into the large amount of data currently being harvested in conjunction with SMEs across FIF trading and the wider Markets business
- Using information generated from data processing to identify the potential for process changes to increase efficiency and reduce operational burden
- Being responsible for coordinating with colleagues to improve processes based on the information learned from data analysis
- Managing and driving to conclusion, strategic projects with the desks external infrastructure partners
- Interacting with a range of internal and external stakeholders as well as market service providers such as Clearstream and Euroclear as well as the Trading desk itself
- Using analytical and decision making skills linked with a trading role including credit evaluation, liquidity management and balance sheet optimization on daily basis
- Collaborating with your team and addressing the needs of the desk to engage effectively with other teams as necessary

**What we’re looking for**:

- A professional with excellent analytical and technical skills in building analytical tools to generate insight, recognize patterns and predict behaviour
- Experience in coding with one or more of the following: Python, C++, SQL, VBA
- Ability to multitask and prioritise assignments and articulate complex and abstract observations to an audience of technical SMEs
- Detail-oriented, exceptional written, verbal and communication skills

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Good understanding of finance, economics, and markets (fixed income in particular)
- Reliable and trusted team player with the ability to work with people of all levels
- Experience with portfolio optimization, data science and visualisation
