Stepping Stone Projects is an established and growing charity providing quality homes and services to help prevent homelessness and transform lives across the North West.

Our support services are aimed at helping our customers develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to maintain a stable home and a structured lifestyle before assisting them in the process of securing or retaining permanent independent accommodation.

We are looking a **part time Supported Housing Worker** **(18.75 hours) working Wednesday pm; Thursday and Friday **to work with prison leavers directly from prison as we provide temporary supported accommodation for up to 12 weeks. The time spent in the accommodation is to help customers adjust to life in the community and work with us towards finding a settled home.

This is a fast-moving service, where you will move individuals from the service within 12 weeks. During this time you will keep accurate and timely paperwork completing move-on referrals and supporting customers to attend housing assessments. You will work with your customers to regularly discuss the move-on plan and to make sure that everyone is working together to find a suitable move-on accommodation

You will engage in partnership working, in particular working closely with probation and the homelessness team., in particular you will report any concerns to the customer's probation officer as well as your line manager.

You will have a caseload of around 5 customers and you will work with them to ensure they are following all the rules when living in the property, and engaging with staff every week.

Other support you may also offer would be making referrals to Substance Misuse Services, Mental Health Services, and registering with a GP.

We would love to hear from you if:

- You have experience of working in any of the following fields: supported housing, housing advice work, youth and community work or work supporting homeless people
- You have experience of using computerised systems frequently, in a busy working environment
- You have the ability to work with customers who have complex needs and who may be challenging to work with, and to respond to conflict situations in a calm yet firm manner
- You have an awareness of causes of homelessness and issues affecting homeless people
- You have the ability to act as an advocate and liaise with the relevant agencies
- You are able to overcome obstacles and deliver results through tenacity, persistence and resilience
- You are able to drive with access to reliable vehicle
