Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Offshore Energies Consultant Engineer join its Specialist Engineering and Consulting team, focusing on managing and administering Specialist Engineering & Consulting (SEC) projects and studies in the offshore energies space comprising conventional O&G projects and the nascent developing Energy Transition markets including floating offshore wind, CCUS, H2, offshore electrification and other energy vectors.

**The Role**

The Senior Consultant will work with the Business Manager to agree which outcomes have the highest priority in each phase of the project. They will initiate key project reviews with the Business Line Managers and will flag any risks for performance with the Business Manager and / or Study Sponsor.

Within the project, the Senior Consultant is responsible for all commercial and technical decisions that are made, although they are expected to delegate appropriately, making use of the skills and experience of their team members. Where decisions present a risk to the agreed project objectives, the Senior Consultant shall consult with the Business Manager / Sponsor to ensure alignment.

**Typical responsibilities**
- Delivering projects and studies; manage risk relating to project/study execution in accordance with the contract terms and conditions and the project execution plan. Managing contract changes as they are arise and ensuring strong Client relationships, whilst still achieving study and Wood company objectives.
- To identify and promote further business opportunities for Wood and support proposal preparation, business development and marketing activities within the team.
- To provide technical excellence, guidance and support to developing engineers with potential for line management responsibilities.
- The Senior Offshore Energies Consultant will be responsible for the execution of Projects and Studies (e.g. concept studies, feasibility assessments, and pre-FEED), demonstrating the following competencies:

- **_ Leadership and Collaboration_**: Supports local leadership and contributes to direction and leadership for securing offshore energies business with inclusivity of wider business streams and business units across Wood. Motivates others to improve their performance. Takes a proactive role in managing and developing engineers.
- **_ Project Execution_**: Agrees the Project Execution Plan and Quality Assurance Plan with the client in a timely manner. Takes responsibility for the schedule, resources, cost and profit, and monitors these to deliver a positive outcome for both the client and SEC. Maintains timely internal and external reporting in line with the contract and departmental procedures.
- **_ Customer Focus_**: Creates a credible and professional image to internal and external customers and other stakeholders. Uses their knowledge and expertise to identify the difference between customer wants and their true needs. Takes a proactive approach to obtaining feedback from their clients.
- **_ Risk Management_**: Understands the contract, sub-contracts and Non-Disclosure Agreements, and ensures the conditions in these are met throughout the work scope. Develops a Risk Matrix for the project and updates this regularly, recording the risk mitigation measures that have been taken.
