Job Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking Talent and Performance Manager to join our team. This is a newly created role which will ensure that Canada Life has a true culture of high performance and a strong pipeline of well-developedinternal successors who will deliver our strategic ambitions, live the Blueprint and are highly engaged.
You will also lead the development of the performance management ensuring it reflects best practice in what we do and how we do it and, through your influence, will champion the approach throughout the organisation to build a true culture of high-performance.
You'll will provide expert advice to the People Strategy Team and engage with Senior Leaders across the organisation to drive awareness, engagement and champion the benefits of effective talent management, career development and performance management. Youwill be successful by using their influence and expertise in organisational development, talent and performance to help others adopt new ways of thinking on performance and talent, and work collaboratively with expert functions in the UK, Europe and Global.

Key Accountabilities
- Provide expert consultancy, coach, influence and collaboration with key leadership, People Team and Executive stakeholders to ensure the Talent and Performance strategy is aligned to the delivery of immediate and future strategic business objectives to effectivelymanage performance, build strong talent pipelines to ensure CLUK is high performing organisation, retaining top talent and has a strong, diverse succession pipeline.
- Leads, evolves and implement the performance management and recognition strategy ensuring that it drives the right organisation outcomes through simple, consistent, and effective processes and systems along with colleague and leader enabling activities.
- Leads, evolves and implements the talent management strategy to including identification, succession planning, development outputs in line with local and global requirements, coaching and equipping business leaders in their role on talent identification andthe development of talent.
- Create strategies, designing creative solutions and opportunities to grow our talent including talent development programmes, career pathways, apprenticeship programmes and coaching which embed our culture, behaviours and expectations
- Manage the Talent and Performance Team providing opportunities to team members through the effective leadership including recruiting, discipline, performance management etc, such that future succession is addressed, and high performing individuals are embeddedin delivering high levels of service for Canada Life
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including People Strategy, Senior Leaders, Global and European teams to ensure the proposition remains relevant and appropriate to achieve the strategy and ambitions.
- Responsible for working with the UK MI and Data teams to create the relevant insight to demonstrate progress, hotspots and successes to meet our regulatory, global, Board and UK performance and talent requirements
- Working with People Services teams, create the relevant MI and insight to demonstrate progress, hotspots and successes to meet our regulatory, global and UK DEI requirements
- Partner with the Learning and Leadership team to design solutions to raise capability on talent and performance
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
- Specialist knowledge and experience in designing and implementing talent and performance practices
- Effective relationship and stakeholder management
- Influencing and communication skills both internally and with external suppliers
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make decisions independently
- Experience of early career apprenticeship programmes
- Collaboration and partnership with other colleagues to co-created solutions
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing others
- Resilient, deals with ambiguity and able to operate under pressure and change
- Ability to work with a virtual team, with colleagues and stakeholders spread across multiple locations
