Liverpool, United Kingdom Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Applications are invited for two full-time (10 programmed activities) Consultant Cellular Pathologist with a special interest in Gastrointestinal and Hepatopancreatobiliary Pathology (GI & HPB) posts. These posts are based within Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL).

The successful applicant will join a fast developing department, which is a nominated hub for the Cheshire and Merseyside pathology network and working towards implementation of digital pathology.

The post should be attractive to either experienced Consultants with a demonstrable special interest in the above subspecialist areas, or to pathologists who would like to develop subspecialist expertise while working in a friendly and stimulating environment. Opportunities for collaborative research are available for those with the appropriate experience.

The diagnostic work is divided among all members of the team on a weekly rota basis. Colleagues work flexibly within the rota to allow non-clinical commitments to be accommodated, and involvement with clinical trials, educational activities and research is strongly encouraged. Support to develop and maintain skills in subspecialist GI & HPB pathology practice will be offered appropriate to the post holder's experience, including a mentoring system for those entering their first consultant appointment.
