Accounts Assistant

I am advertising on behalf of my prestigious client, an award winning local business for a **Full Time Accounts Assistant** to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity to join this business during a period of growth and with opportunities for further progression.
**The Role-**
Your duties will involve, but not be limited to:
- Answering queries from suppliers, customers and colleagues.
- Processing purchase invoices and expenses.
- Reconciliation of the purchase ledger.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations.
- Setting up new suppliers, including verification of their details (CIS, VAT, bank details etc).
- HR and payroll administration (e.g. updating records with new joiners and leavers, changes to addresses, bank details).
- General administration tasks.
**About You-**
To be successful in this role, you must be highly organised and efficient, with excellent attention to detail. You must be a team player, with strong communication skills (including a great telephone manner) and a “can do” attitude. You must also be flexible and adaptable, with an open mind to change.
Computer literacy is essential, including the ability to use Microsoft tools and Excel to an intermediate level (Pivot tables, lookups). Experience of using cloud-based software, such as Xero, Quickbooks or Sage, would be a bonus - but your approach and attitude towards learning new systems is the most important thing.
Full training can be provided, but ideally you will also have an understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.

**Desirable**:
- AAT level 3 or above, or accounts/purchase ledger experience
- Construction industry experience
- Experience using Xero, or similar cloud-based software
