Due to launch late Spring2024, the Spa at the Cairndale Hotel is a new destination Spa for the south of Scotland, offering treatments, spa days and wellness retreats in the heart of Dumfries.

The hotel is popular for large events including weddings, birthday celebrations and conferences. The hotel also boasts banqueting facilities including grand ballroom for up to 350 guests.

The hotel is centrally located right in the heart of Dumfries, 5 minutes from the train station and a stopping point on a number of bus routes.

As a Night Hotel Porter, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of the hotel during night-time hours. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, from assisting guests with their needs to maintaining the security and cleanliness of the premises. You'll be the primary point of contact for guests during the night shift, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Guest Assistance**: Greet guests upon arrival during late hours, assist with check-ins and check-outs, and provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- **Security**: Maintain a vigilant presence throughout the property, monitoring for any suspicious activity or safety hazards. Respond promptly to any security concerns or emergencies, following established protocols.
- **Property Maintenance**: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address any maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures, malfunctioning equipment, or cleanliness concerns. Take appropriate action to resolve issues or escalate them to the relevant department.
- **Room Service**: Facilitate room service orders for guests, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of orders. Coordinate with the kitchen and other staff members to fulfil guest requests efficiently.
- **Administrative Tasks**: Perform various administrative duties, including updating guest records, processing payments, and generating reports for management as required.
- **Guest Relations**: Foster positive relationships with guests by addressing their needs and concerns in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipate guest requirements and strive to exceed their expectations whenever possible.

**Skills and requirements**:

- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for handling administrative tasks
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and lift/move heavy objects if required
- Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
