**Peabody**has an exciting opportunity for a **Specialist Support Worker **on a **part time,** permanent basis, based in **Basildon.**In return, you will receive a competitive salary of **circa £25,000 per annum.**

**About the Specialist Support Worker **role**:
As a **Specialist Support Worker, **you will be providing trauma informed support (ways of supporting people that recognise specific needs they may have as a result of past or ongoing trauma), which is inclusive of the clients individual needs with the objective of securing employment, training and/or education and maintaining engagement with external services.

We are committed to delivering high quality, effective support services for those in need of support to sustain their tenancies. You will work as part of a community-based team, this is a visiting service that the post holder will be expected to take the lead on. Working with those who have experience of complex and compound trauma; including sleeping rough. Previous experience of working with clients who have slept rough/experienced other forms of homelessness is essential.

This role will include (but not limited to) liaising with stakeholders and partners, to best support those placed within our accommodated based services in sustaining their tenancy. In addition provide move on support to prevent them returning to rough sleeping.

**What we're looking for in our Specialist Support Worker**:

- Knowledge of welfare benefits- Experience of providing support to vulnerable customers in either a volunteering or professional role- Kindness, empathy, a positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm- Competent and accurate in using Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel with good literacy skills and attention to detail- An understanding of the concept of housing related support and supporting people to help themselves
