**About the Role - Finance Support Officer**
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Appointee & Deputyship Team as a Finance Support Officer. We offer flexible working where you will be expected to work some days in the office but will also have the opportunity to work from home. The successful applicant will be responsible for processing referrals for Appointeeship with the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) and with the Court of Protection (COP) for Deputyship requests. The applicant will also be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the finances for a person who lacks the capacity to manage their own finances and has no one willing or able to do this for them. The applicant will also need to review the persons benefit entitlement and reviewing their finances including any outgoings such as utility payments, personal spending and any costs towards their care and support.
The Appointee & Deputyship is a dynamic and friendly team within Adult Social Care, liaising directly with service users and their families/representatives to ensure that they have support to manage their finances for day to day living. the applicant must be able to work consistently and promptly, showing sensitivity and tact.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
