Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences seeks an enthusiastic
**Senior Clinical Research Fellow**, with expertise in Clinical Genetics, who is looking for the opportunity to develop their independent research career in Motor Neurone Disease (MND, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS, and the related disorder frontotemporal dementia, FTD) research, through their engagement with an established internationally-leading programme of neuroscience research, led by Professor Kevin Talbot, Professor Martin Turner and Dr Alexander Thompson.

Specifically, the broad aims of this programme of research will be to:
- Determine the penetrance of MND gene pathogenic variants in the setting of both familial and apparently sporadic disease and also at population level.-
- Identify genetic factors that contribute to and protect against MND gene penetrance and quantifying their relative effects on risk.-
- Develop a personalised algorithm for calculating MND risk in unaffected relatives by combining genomic polygenic risk stratification with family history data.- Applicants are strongly advised to address each of the criteria in the job description when applying, rather than providing a generic statement of their experience and skills._

**The post is part time (0.4 FTE), fixed term, until 31st March 2025.**

**Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
