**About the role and what we're looking for**:
The Property Asset Management team provide Property and Facilities services across both Councils for the general public and for internal customer departments, using a Corporate Landlord model. The types of buildings and the customers being served include:

- Arts centres - Cornerstone in Didcot and Beacon in Wantage.
- Council offices, providing staff accommodation and public reception service.
- Community centres
- Leisure - includes leisure facilities and outdoor swimming pools.
- Housing - hostels, houses, mobile home parks
- Public toilets

This role is to provide the management of the cleaning staff who undertake the cleaning of the public toilets across both district councils.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- To assist the supervisor in oversee the day-to-day operation of the public toilets across both council areas
- Act alongside the supervisor as the first point of contact for the help desk who receive issue reports for the public and to arrange or attend these incidents to resolve any immediate problems.
- Assist the supervisor in ensuring the councils' policies and procedures are deployed correctly within the team, notably health & safety, data protection and equality and diversity
- To provide metre reading for both electricity and water on a monthly basis
- To provide support to the Technical Project Team Leader with the operations of the car parks as and when required.
- Assist with stock taking and inventory checks
- Arrange regular team meetings
- The Supervisor will oversee a small team of staff, ensuring that the public toilets are kept, clean and safe to use for the public.
- Be vigilant regarding activity within the public toilets and surroundings area with particularly regard to groups individuals who might undertake unsocial activities such are drug taking and unsocial behaviour and vandalism.
- Responsibility for carrying out health and safety and fire safety checks,
- Be responsible for staff welfare plus on-site Health and Safety compliance
- Review and approve risk assessments and method statements. Manage and issue permits to work. Review and manage construction design and management (CDM) responsibilities.
- to develop and monitor annual repair and maintenance work programmes for the facilities, in liaison with the
- ensure that the necessary works are undertaken within time and budget
- undertake building inspections and develop and manage a forward maintenance register to capture, plan and budget for, future maintenance and project works.
- To be able to undertake unsocial cleaning tasks when facilities are not used correctly by the public.
- Report as required any vandalism incidents or accidents that take place to the supervisor on duty.
- To be available to provide cover, for others in the team should it be required.

The duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility and the post holder may also be required to carry out any other duties appropriate to the grading of the post.

**About you**:
**Your essential skills, knowledge and experience**
- One year's experience of working in a cleaning role is essential
- ability to maintain accurate reports and records
- You must be able to read safety information on cleaning materials to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Provide training to staff on the correct use of all equipment and materials
- You must be able to follow the instructions on cleaning product to ensure the correct dilution levels.
- Experience of ensuring public facilities are kept clean and safe to use.
- A knowledge of how building/refurbishment projects are managed
- Experience in identifying works required to maintain buildings in good order
- Familiarity with contract procurement process
- Good health and safety awareness with regard to cleaning equipment and materials
- Valid full driving licence

**If you have the following experience or qualifications - it's a bonus**

Awareness for COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to Health). (Training will be provided)
Awareness of Health and Safety requirements to ensure that staff operate in a safe environment
Ability to organise a team of cleaners to ensure that standard are maintained at the highest level possible
