**LOGISTICS OPERATIVE / DRIVER**

Reporting to: Logistics Group Leader

Responsible for providing assistance in the day to day running of the Stores / Logistics department to ensure stock is provided to both internal and external customers

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**:
Ø Moving, handling and transporting a wide range of differing têxtiles and materials, both raw and finished goods. Follow through of any discrepancies that arise.
Ø Driving Counterbalance FLT and other vehicles (all under 3.5 tonnes axle weight) to deliver products to operational areas within customer premises.
Ø Delivering product to customer sites as well as offering on site support.
Ø Unpack shipments in the storeroom and categorise them appropriately.
Ø Undertaking general warehousing duties as directed.
Ø Liaise with Site Management on delivery and despatch enquiries.
Ø Working in large freezers at below -18 degrees C (Intermittently - PPE provided).
Ø Attendance at and contribution to team and departmental meetings and company updates.
Ø Comply with Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at Site, maintaining a safe working environment and suggesting improvements to Health & Safety.
Ø Any other reasonable ad hoc tasks that arise at the request of the Manager.
Ø Please note - a portion of the time will be spent conducting these activities on a customer’s site on behalf of Velocity Composites, as our on-site logistics representative This will be on a rotation basis with other team colleagues. Full training and detailed induction will be provided.

**Person Specification**:
Ø Previous experience of working in a busy warehouse / stores department is essential as is an understanding the way in which these departments work.
Ø Ability to physically lift and move products and raw materials into and out of vehicles whilst working safely in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Ø Good team worker with strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident in dealing directly with customers when delivering products to external sites.
Ø A full, clean current driving licence is essential. A counterbalance FLT licence is advantage.
Ø Experience of working in a business that applies strict quality assurance standards and lean and continuous improvement working methods would be a distinct advantage.

37.5 hours per week - 2 Positions available

**Salary**: £10.74-£11.38 per hour
