The role covers the following key tasks:
- Telephone calls - Handling a high volume of calls and signposting patients to the most appropriate point of care. Phone lines being open from 8am until 17.30pm
- Patient welfare - a busy front desk in the main reception, booking patients into appointments, queue management, multi tasking under pressure.
- Appointment system - appropriate use of our clinical IT system (SystmOne) in booking appointments, booking remote appointments with other organisations, processing patient queries and logging confidential information.
- Repeat prescriptions - where required, assisting with the processing of patients' repeat prescription requests.
- Learning and development - participating in a program of continual learning and development, including annual mandatory training.
- Personal skills - able to maintain good relations with colleagues and patients, facilitate a culture of learning and continual development. Be able to work in a fast pace environment under pressure. The ability to multi task and to be able to manage your own workload. To be able to support all teams across the surgery.
