2mv Logistics Ltd are recruiting for a **Ledger Clerk/ Accounts Assistant** to join our friendly family run business who specialises in Transport Distribution and Freight Forwarding based in Portsmouth.

Working closely with the Finance Manager assisting in the day to day running of the Accounts Department.

This role requires you to work using your own initiative, be forward thinking and pro-active and to work on your own with mínimal supervision.

**Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant**
- Matching and coding invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Reconciling supplier statements to maintain accurate accounts payable records.
- Resolving queries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining an organised filing system for invoices and other financial documents.
- Assisting the Finance Manager when required.

**Technical Competencies**
- Experience with basic Excel spreadsheets
- Knowledge of Xero software an advantage
- Previous accounting experience

**Personal Competencies**
- Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent reoccurrence.
- Excellent communication skills and organisational skills and be able to manage a busy workload independently.
- Highly numerate with high degree of accuracy.

**Hours & Pay**
- 8-15 hours per week spread over 2 or 3 days. Will be 15 hours to start with but may be lowered to 8 hours based on the needs of the business.
- Rate of pay between £11-£12 an hour depending on experience (Full time equivalent would be between £24,310- £26,520 based on 42.5 hours a week)

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
