**Purpose**: The main purpose it to support the Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician will ensure that the Port facilities and equipment meet all current legislation and the operational needs of the business are met, making sure costs are adhered to as well as achieving high levels of customer service.

**About You**:
We are looking to recruit an Engineering Technician who enjoys working in a primarily office-based role within our Lowestoft port for much of the time as well as providing technical support when required. This is a highly varied operation incorporating an award-winning marina, major cargo operations, and a growing emphasis on offshore wind including the LEEF project which is set to provide additional berthing and warehousing space in addition to further improving ABP’s dedication to sustainability.

An engineering background is significant as there will be some hands-on elements within your day to day focusing on control of contractors, prioritising works, permits & permissions and liaising with outside bodies such as Highways England. The use of CMMS is required, desirable Main saver, full training will be provided. Ability to influence behaviour's and communicate information both verbally and written both internally and externally.

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Ability to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Health and Safety principles including developing Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work
- Experience with a CMS type system, crafting work orders for preventative or reactive maintenance tasks, recording relevant information, and closing jobs off.
- Excellent communication and people skills demonstrating the ability to communicate to both our internal and external customers.
- A flexible and committed approach to working within a small team.
- Outstanding customer service and always seeking to improve quality and service for both our internal and external customers.
- Familiarity with the operations and equipment on the Port Estate would be a distinct advantage.
- Working in a pressured environment with a track record of meeting targets in a timely manner.
